Here's another awesome bit of trivia about this.  

If anyone here has also seen "New Voyages"/"Phase II," Matthew Ewald and Vic Mignogna were both in their prequel episode, "Origins," about a young Cadet Kirk trying to save his father during a training cruise on the U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1701), then commanded by Captain Christopher Richard McKinnies Prescott Pike (yes, his name is that long - it's from the novel "Burning Dreams," I think).

Well, for those who didn't know before: in that episode, Matthew Ewald played the brash young cadet Kirk, and his dad, Commander George Samuel Kirk, Sr., was played by none other than Vic himself.  Pretty neat, huh? =)
